In 1945, Frank Lloyd Wright finished construction of the first Roux Library (now Buckner Building) at Florida Southern College. Nils Schweizer was the architect for the present building which was occupied in March 1968.

Wright originally planned 18 structures but he died in 1959 when only 12 had been built. With other architects in his firm, Nils Schweizer, a Wright apprentice, designed those that followed through the '80s.
